When Americans think about Colombia they often think of Bogata, however, when you join us you will know that Cartagena is a beautiful coastal town with a walled off city, Old Town. It is a city that was founded in the 16th century and has lovely cobblestone streets and colorful buildings. Its Isla de Baru has white-sand beaches and palm trees and it's ready for exploration.
Our Trip
will last 4 or 6 days depending on the option you choose. We will be staying at two of the most gorgeous five-star hotels in the city. Our package does not include air. It does include the option to join us for a yacht/beach club day. We will enjoy a planned dinner in Old Town where we'll party like rock stars. We plan to delve into Colombian culture with our Palenque African legacy tour as we explore the country's heritage.
Our Itinerary
JUNE 19-20
Travel to Colombia by air where you will be picked up at the Rafael Nunez International Airport. You will travel to Isla de Baru. You will stay 2 nights, June 19th and 20th in Isla de Baru. You will spend two days relaxing by the sea while enjoying the beautiful beaches and a spa day. This option is an add-on to the trip and can be purchased in addition to the group's primary package.

JUNE 21
Return to Cartagena if you are on the pre-trip or welcome to Cartagena if you are opting to begin your trip today excluding the pre-trip option.
You will arrive at the Rafael Nunez International Airport from the U.S. where you will be picked up and transported to our 5 star hotel in Cartagena. This hotel will be your home for the duration of your stay in Cartagena.
We will meet by the hotel pool in the early evening for a welcome to Cartagena cocktail and small bites as we realize that you may want to relax after your journey to Colombia.
JUNE 22
Let's explore the city and learn more about the culture. This is the day when we awake to the first of our wonderful, package included, gourmet breakfasts. After breakfast we will leave the hotel and go on our private Palenque tour. This tour will wow you as you enjoy the history and see the traditions that have withstood the test of time. After spending time on the tour this will be a good time to come back and explore the Old Town with walking tours or time on your own.
June 23
Let's take ourselves beach hopping. Get ready! After breakfast you will have the option of staying ashore with your own "slow it down and chill" agenda or you can hop on the yacht and go beach clubbing with us for a few hours. We'll stop at the beaches on Rosario and Baru. We'll party on the boat and in the sand. This is going to be fun if you choose the option that includes the yacht party.
JUNE 24
After yesterday, we need a little relief from the Sun. We are free to roam the walled city on our own, stay by the pool, read a book on the terrace, party with new friends, but we must be back by 6 p.m. to dress for our night out on the town in our spiffy white duds. This is the night of our farewell dinner and a toast to our host for creating such an incredible long weekend for us to enjoy. Let them eat cake, meat, vegetables and drink!
JUNE 25
Don't worry, our travel advisors know when you are scheduled to leave for your flights. They will ensure you get a card the night before letting you know when your transfer will be ready to take you to the airport. Whew! We've packed a lot into this trip, but we wouldn't change a thing.
